Personalizing the Vocabulary

Use Vocabulary (AVOCAB) under Personalization in the Setup > General parameters block to personalize vocabulary elements.
  • The program makes it possible to work in several languages (such as, French, English, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and Chinese). When connecting to the software, you can select the language to use. The program also allows you to replace messages or local menus in the software.
  • The table, AVOCAB, stores a list of vocabulary exceptions in the database. This table is used to replace standard text with special text. You could, for example, replace the term “Payment lead-time” with “Payment LT.”
  • The Version field makes it possible to deliver several vocabularies in a reference folder, as well as determine which one must be used in the production folder.
  • At the Text type field, you can choose either Text or Message.
    • The Messages table (APLSTD) stores the local menus. In this table, the text is structured in the form of a local menu number and a message number.
    • The Text table (ATEXTE) stores text you can see on screens.
  • The Order no. field is used to enter the number corresponding to the text to be translated.
  • At the Standard text field, enter the existing text that is shipped with the software.
  • At the Text field, enter the text you want to use to replace the standard text.
  • After saving the changes, select Validation to validate your entry. The following window appears.
